On 25 January 2023, ECCIL EuroCham Executive director – Thiane Khamvongsa and External relations officer – Phouthong Sorinxay attended the launching of the Inventory of Business Licenses website or IBL, organized by the Department of Enterprise Registration and Management, Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
The ceremony was chaired by Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade – H.E. Chansouk Sengprachan, and Dr Xaybandit Latsaphon, Ph.D, Vice President of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the country manager of World Bank – Ms. Melit Juds.
Mr. Xaybandit Latsaphon, Ph.D, – Vice President of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) expressed in his opening remarks that the website (www.bned.moic.gov.la) was to help public and private investors, both domestic and foreign, to access information on business regulations in the Lao PDR in a convenient, simple, time-saving manner and to reduce the difficulty of having to request information in person with the relevant sectors.
The website www.bned.moic.gov.la is a database for collecting and providing online information about the regulations for business licenses, certificates, and other licenses that must be requested from the sector and the responsible agency, which contains a summary of legislation, regulations, procedures, deadlines, costs, documents and business accounts required to apply for business licenses for all sectors. The project aims to reduce the obstacles that obstructs the growth of the private sector through improving the business environment and various regulations, reducing the cost of trade and increasing the competitiveness of the business sector.
