This document provides a range of information and data on the trade between Laos and the EU. Laos has a consistent trade deficit with the EU which has increased between 2014 and 2016. Nevertheless, although the number of European goods imported by Laos has almost doubled in ten years (2006-2016), the number of Laotian goods exported to Europe has increased fourfold in the same period. The majority of European goods imported by Laos are food, live animals and manufactured products. In terms of Laotian exports to the EU, the majority is edibles, machinery and transport equipment. Furthermore, EU was ranked the 4th trading partner of Laos for imports and exports in 2016 (IMF source).
