The European Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Lao PDR (ECCIL) was honoured to have participated in the 3rd ARISE Plus Roundtable Discussion on Trade Facilitation on the Notification of Non-Tariff Measures (NTMs) and on the Consultations with Private Sector at Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Center at CentralWorld, Bangkok, Thailand on 9 July 2019.
The objective of this occasion was to bring ASEAN Institutions and private sector representatives together to discuss in an informal setting on two important issues of relevance to the private sector in ASEAN and closely connected to ASEAN’s trade facilitation agenda and to the implementation of Non-Tariff Measures (NTMs) Guidelines:
I) The process of notification by ASEAN Member States (AMSs) of new or modified NTMs ahead of their formal adoption and
II) The consultations with the private sector, both in relation to the notified NTMs and to any other issue of relevance vis-à-vis the realisation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).
