On September 13th, the European Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Lao PDR (ECCIL EuroCham Laos) attended a conference on Corporate Social Responsibility jointly organized by Austcham Lao and the Canadian Embassy at the Crowne Plaza hotel, Vientiane.
During the event, speakers from different business sectors including mining, forestry and hospitality shared their views and activities related to CSR.
It was pointed out that, an integrated CSR-strategy is highly relevant for larger businesses as well as small and medium-sized companies and can result in competitive advantages supporting the strategic sustainability of business operations. The growing influence of social media in combination with a changing customer behaviour stimulates the introduction of a CSR-strategy for businesses of any size and sector.
