European Chambers and Business Networks of ASEAN have created the EU-ASEAN SME Support Network during their coordination meeting in Jakarta on March 9th 2018.
The EU supports several chambers and projects (“Business Networks”) in a number of ASEAN member countries. One of the beneficiaries of this support programme (SEBSEAM – Support to European Business in South East Asia Markets) is ECCIL, among the others are the EuroChams Cambodia and Myanmar as well as the EU-Indonesian and the EU-Vietnam Business Networks. In order to exchange information and to coordinate their activities, particular awareness raising events in third countries, the organisations involved in this SEBSEAM programme meet twice yearly; the most recent meeting took place in Jakarta on March 8th and 9th.
During this two-days meeting the participants agreed to create a network to enhance their support for European small and medium enterprises by cooperating closely in the field of services and in particular in advocacy, especially on the ASEAN level.
