The Food and Agricultural Import Regulations and Standards Country Report provides an overview of food and feed legislation currently in force for the European Union (EU). The “Food Information to Consumers (FIC)” Regulation is the main food labeling piece of legislation in force in the EU. It is applicable to all pre-packaged food and drink products marketed in the EU, including those imported from third countries. However, the FIC regulation allows the 27 EU Member States to deviate from European rules.
