The Prime Minister has approved a minimum wage increase from LAK900,000 to LAK1,100,000. The pay rise is expected to take place from 1 May this year when Laos celebrates International Labour Day. The Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare has been assigned to play an active role in coordinating with different stakeholders to ensure the strict and effective implementation of the order.
