EuroCham Laos at the EBO Worldwide Network Annual Meeting – Brussels, June 2026

From 1 to 5 June 2026, EuroCham Laos Executive Director Stefano Pighin joined representatives from European business organisations at the EBO Worldwide Network Annual Meeting in Brussels, Belgium.

Over five days, delegates from across 6 regions and 54 countries came together to discuss the evolving role of European businesses in third-country markets. The agenda included engagements with the European Commission's Directorate-General for Trade and Economic Security (DG TRADE) and the Director-General for the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW), focusing on competitiveness, economic security, trade policy and market access.

The meeting was particularly relevant for Laos, as the country prepares for graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status in November 2026, a transition that will require engaging with the EU on new trade arrangements to replace the current Everything But Arms (EBA) scheme and preserve the competitiveness of Lao exports in the European market.

For EuroCham Laos, participation in EBOWN provides a direct channel to bring the voice of the European business community in Laos into broader international policy discussions and to share experiences and opportunities with other Chambers in the region and around the world!
