SOS Children’s Villages Laos
SOS Children’s Villages Laos is a social development non-profit organization, initiated in 1993. The Government of Lao PDR agreed to receive assistance from SOS – KINDERDORF INTERNATIONAL to establish SOS Children’s Villages Laos, aiming to pioneer a family approach to the long-term care of orphaned, abandoned children, and children who have lost parental care with no one else. As an independent non-governmental social development organization, we take action for children while respecting varying religions and cultures, working in countries and communities where our mission can contribute to development.
SOS Children’s Village provides care, nurture, and support to orphans, abandoned children, and children facing difficult circumstances through family support and care programs. We ensure every child and young person grows up with the bonds they need to become their strongest self by offering quality alternative care in SOS family settings—family-like environments based on love, respect, and security. We believe every child belongs to a family and deserves to grow up with these essential bonds.
