The Seminar on River Safety, Rules & Regulations for River Boat Operators in Laos was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2019, 9:00 – 12:00, Luang Prabang View Hotel, Luang Prabang Province.
In order to ensure the consistent safety of passengers and staff alike, river boat operators have to implement and follow a number of rules and procedures. Any violation of the existing rules do not only jeopardise human lives but also imply serious penalties.
During our seminar River Safety, Rules & Regulations for River Boat Operators, in cooperation with the Department of Public Works and Transport of Luang Prabang Province, Mr. Sombath Chaleunponh, Head of the Waterway Section at the Department of Public Works and Transport of Luang Prabang Province, introduced an update on the existing rules and regulations applicable for passenger transportation on waterways. Details regarding safety equipment required by Lao law and penalties applied for violations were also presented.

- Individual questions
There were approximately 60 participants from various sectors, out of which the majority are from the tourism industry, river boat community and companies who took part in our seminar.
