In order to further promote trade and investment between Laos and EU, on 5th of November 2020, the EU Ambassador, Ms Ina Marciulionyte led a delegation comprised of representatives from EU member states, Ministries, LNCCI and ECCIL EuroCham Laos to the Vientiane Industry and Trade Area Special Economic Zone (VITA Park).
Prior to a visit to ECCIL EuroCham member, Mascot International Lao Sole Co., Ltd., a Danish company specialising in workwear with a factory in the Special Economic Zone, the delegation paid a brief visit to the zone office where supervising officials and the zone’s developer briefed the group on the background of VITA Park and plans for future development.
The delegation then visited Mascot International Lao Sole Co., Ltd. to hear about its previous achievements and its plan to expand the company’s workplace.
On the 6th of November 2020, the delegation visited a plywood mill construction project and tree plantation owned by ECCIL EuroCham Silver sponsor, Burapha Agro-Forestory Co., Ltd in Hinheup district, Vientiane province. Burapha is the oldest foreign direct investment (FDI) company in Laos, who is committed to managing and developing the business in a sustainable manner.
The visit was intended to promote bilateral trade and investment, especially European investment in Laos.
